I have a question 4 the general public. Why do some believe the world will come to an end in 2012? What do some believe will happen? I have not heard anything concerning this prophecy. please help. thanks

To me, many so called Prophets , Oracels and even the Mayan's use the stars,moon and the sun to predict the end times (LUKE 21:25).I'm sure as we keep tract of day's and years so do the Heavens.But as some have predicted a day and year , I cannot shake a few scripture's out of my head (MATTHEW 24:36&44 -MARK 13:32).So just a thought__if everybody starts to believe 2012 is the year,just think on how many people will think they got time(decieved)to accept JESUS in there heart and repent .Maybe by then to late(MATTHEW 24:38&39)

                      Yes the Mayan calender is increadably acurate , perhaps very much more than our own calendar in use as I speak. As to garlic , these Dates have run their course. Acuracy does not , in itself,foretell destruction.

2012 The date is purely arbitary the Mayans may well have had a calendar, but really it is an agricultural tool and a bit of star gazing.
I doubt any thing significant will happen on the proposed date of 22 Dec? whenever.
Just the next date would then, have be 2020 just by fashion.

I've been watching all the programs about Dec. 21/22 2012 Here is a new thought.
Since in my believes, gods time is not the same as mortal time. and a day to god mite just be 26,000 years, who's to say  how many days god counts as a year. Now this is just a thought. I'm not god nor do I purpose to know what god thinks being only mortal my self.  Just maybe is the earths birthday.  This would be an explanation why the calendars stop on this date. just as on new years we start over. Whit a big rock coming between the earth and moon, the line up of the sun moon and milky way. God mite be lighting a birthday candle.

as far as giving credit to god yes i believe in god. i don't how ever limit god to any one belief.
i also believe that unlike christian that a day in gods time is nothing like a day in mortal time.
not trying to insert a dogma here was just giving a thought as to why the calenders stop at a point in time.
if a people have a calender that stops at new years each year different people different days for this change over.
Why can't earth.if the earth takes 26,000 years to come to a point in space, and giving that time and point as a day. how long is a year. if the starting point being at the same point just as one rotations of the sun is an soler year. What is the galaxy year. and the thing about the candle of god it was a medifor for big changes that happen each time this happens such as the dinosaurs dieing out. 100 years ago pinacelin was magic 400 years ago cars or anything self propelled was blasphemous.

But really just a rhetorical point No one has met "God" so his/her/it views are really just assumed and supposed scribes and prophets are really the only guide, Oh yes humans love the spiritual and a life code, but really whether, sporting, entertainment or even religious, it really is the same, time spent adoring the deity/ies life and promise.
I love the Dao no thou shalt nots and deep doodoos if you do!
Just try and be better all the time, self improvement without baggage.

hehe from god to beast is human, just ask a dog.

those we adore are gods.  those who adore us, think us gods.

The wonder word here is think, or thinking.

If you want to know my thinking well i believe we are all gods and gods sons or daughters.
some think that god is just dreaming us, others think god is a man somewhere up there (who knows where that is).
doesn't matter what you think because you will all way think that way. It was said a long time ago.
a mam con fenced ageist his will is of the same thought still.
When i die I'll know if I'm right or wrong, just at that same point in time you will know if that's the end or not.
What we each believe is only important to us, no one else. Some find others that believe a long the same lines and group together. Others like you and i walk are own roads in believe. Some times i wish that those who gather is mass groups would stop trying to take my will to think away from me.

Those who must feel apart of a larger group its fine to group just stop trying to force me into a group.
I happen to like standing on my own feet using my own brain thinking my own thoughts.
I like talking to other people (gods) sharing thoughts
Some of those thoughts mite be simple truths but fallowing my own logic they would be my truths not yours.
Just as your simple truths would be yours not mine.

A simple truth is the world will end for me when i die. just as it has ended for every person who has died before.
as too weather we go on to other things that depends on what you believe to be a truth in your self.

some believe that they will be razed up to a haven of singing and praying forever more, not i.
giving lip service to another was never part of my thinking prosise.

some believe that when they die its done.

 If that it trues then no harm don't in learning everything i can about everything i can.
I think its a sin (the only sin) not to learn something new everyday. if i die and am god then I'm at least prepared to do something new. If I'm not god then I'll not be bored singing all day long. 

I never was allowed to go to school after the 8th grade so my English skills are not up there with smart people, but i still have deep thoughts about just about everything.
I've read every book i could buy or get my hands on for a time.
some words even spell check scratch its head about.
I am just me and believe in myself first, then learn about others and what they think about them self's.
I think and i maybe wrong you think that if you can't touch it hold it or count it then is not real, well this maybe be true i can't say for sure as I'm not dead yet.
being god, making my world and living in that world until i shade this body. people say i have a god complex hehe.
this also is true, not necessarily wrong. Since in any experiment you never know until its done weather it worked or not. Being in the middle of the experiment and part of it i can't change it ends and i ether scrape it or try again with other perimeters.
religious people are a great entertainment even people who don't think they are religious. People who fight others because they believe in a here after are just as religious as most preachers. Not in a god but in there 5 sinces. Using the mind is not part the 5 sinces. frist is you have to think witch is not part of the sinces. then thinking you have to give value to those sinces. Now your being a god. ops now you have a god complex.
a dog gives no value to what it thinks but loves you now your god complex has just moved thew being self delooting to fact.
