1  News & Media / Current Events / Happy end of the world! on: December 21, 2012, 01:27:59 AM
Or not as it's most likely to be:

http://www.nostradamus.org/2012.php

The Daily Telegraph has a live blog for some reason:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/maya/9758201/Mayan-apocolypse-the-end-of-the-world-live.html

Do not be surprised if reports surface in the coming days of people who took it a little too seriously. If they're lucky they suffered a little embarrassment from having to explain prophecies which didn't come true. The not so lucky ones, members of doomsday cults, the mentally disturbed etc. might really have experienced the end of the world at least from their perspective

I threw a little page together to describe the Mayan calendar and the rollover that will happen on 21 December 2012. It seems to be coming up with increasing frequency so it's bound to be a popular piece of news filler as the time approaches.

5  Nostradamus / General Discussion / Re: 2012 the end of an era or Earth? And what Is NIBIRU? on: May 10, 2012, 01:02:14 PM
Niburu / Planet X has been supposed to be passing / crashing into the Earth for decades now. Supporters have previously explained its non appearance by suggesting it passed spiritually (whatever that means), or the aliens who are in control of it thought we were not ready. I expect this year will prove no different for excuses when the day comes and goes without any planet X.
6  News & Media / Current Events / Mayans never predicted world to end in 2012: experts on: December 03, 2011, 04:05:42 AM
If you are worried the world will end next year based on the Mayan calendar, relax: the end of time is still far off. So say Mayan experts who want to dispel any belief that the ancient Mayans predicted a world apocalypse next year.

7  Nostradamus / General Discussion / Mabus arrested on: August 18, 2011, 10:34:43 AM
Mabus was apprehended in Montreal in the last few days:

http://skeptools.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/case-study-notorious-spammer-brought-down-twitter-tumblr-social-media-mabus/

Okay, so it's not THE Mabus. Instead it's Dave Mabus aka Dennis Markuze, a prolific and certifiable spammer who has spent the last 15 years harassing groups and individuals. In recent years his harassment spun over into death threats. Even the nostradamus.org forum was "blessed" with some his crazy until he was permabanned. One of his posts is preserved in the Trashcan sans working links.

Hopefully for his sake he'll receive the treatment that he so clearly needs.

It's more frequent than even that. JREF lists 44 of them and I bet they're missing out a pile which never attracted the publicity

Oh dear that didn't go too well. It would be funny if it weren't for the lives ruined in the wake of one man's delusions.

10  News & Media / Current Events / Happy rapture day! on: May 20, 2011, 12:07:15 PM
Tomorrow is predicted to be the rapture according to Harold Camping. Blithering old fool or prophet? We'll see when Sunday rolls around. Or doesn't.

I can't believe how Obama Bowed to the saudi King,,,,,,made me puke......there's video of it and it wasn't like a respectfull bow it was like ,,MASTER(worldnetdaily.com)......are country is in trouble......blah

It looked like a respectful bow to me. It might even be the correct protocol to address the king. Besides, diplomacy isn't just about threatening other states, sometimes you need to seduce and flatter them. Billions of dollars in contracts, trade agreements, military pacts as well as regional stability etc. may rest on good relations.
